Liav Koren on how 3D printing is changing our lives

2013, Science & Technology
Presented By: Liav Koren

Liav Koren, an architect by training, now a designer, researcher, and creative technologist by inclination, explains the fascinating history that has led to the 3D scanning and digital fabrication technologies of today. He says that 3D printing will not displace traditional manufacturing, but rather supplement it, speeding design and iteration set times. It is encroaching on the consumer space in interesting ways, has had a big influence on software and information technology, and is establishing fascinating roles in biology, robotics, analytics, cultural preservation and medicine, amongst many other fields.
