Bruce Kirkby

Bruce Kirkby is a Canadian adventurer, award-winning photographer and author who has spent more than two decades roaming the planet and documenting his travels.

Kirkby earned a degree in engineering physics but after a short stint at a job that bored him, he packed up and left for Northern Pakistan at age 21. The travel bug never left him, and along the way he discovered his talents for writing and photography. He is a weekly columnist for the Globe and Mail, a contributing editor at Explore Magazine and his articles appear regularly in such publications as Canadian Geographic and Time. He is also the former host of the CBC’s No Opportunity Wasted.
