Second City Mainstage Cast

Comedy Troupe

The Second City Toronto’s Mainstage Cast currently consists of Matt Baram, Paul Constable, Jamilah Ross, Naomi Snieckus, Derek Flores and Rebecca Northan.

The troupe’s latest show, Good’s Good, Evil’s Bad opened in November to terrific reviews. The Toronto Sun noted that the show “finds the troupe thinking a few degrees outside the box in a quest for laughs… tailor made for a little comic adventurism”, while The Toronto Star writes that “The sketches plumb the delightful depths of human experience.”

The venerable Second City – known throughout North America as the “Temple of Satire” and for launching the careers of John Candy, Martin Short, Mike Myers, Dan Aykroyd and Chris Farley – opened its door in Chicago in 1959. Although the company made Toronto its home in 1973 and is still Canadian-owned, Second City, also has locations in Los Angeles, Detroit, Las Vegas and Chicago.

Good’s Good, Evil’s Bad is the company’s 56th revue, and is billed as a show that “ponders the age-old question of our human dichotomy – as well as some stuff about the hockey strike. Duality is a major feature on the menu in the new show, as the ensemble cast debates the merits of scatological comedy, Brazilian waxing and Polkaroo (good or evil? You decide).”
