Pascal Lee

NASA Haughton-Mars Project Lead

Pascal Lee is a Planetary Scientist at the SETI Institute, Chairman of the Mars Institute and Director of the Haughton-Mars Project on Devon Island in the Canadian Arctic. His research focuses on Mars, the Moon, asteroids and impact craters, particularly in connection to their history of water and the possibility of the existence of life. Lee is widely recognized for his efforts to advance the human exploration of Mars, especially in relation to the moons Phobos and Deimos, for which he has led NASA and Canadian Space Agency exploratory studies.  Lee also served as a crewmember in the first field tests of NASA’s Lunar Electric Rover (LER), a pressurized rover currently under development for future lunar exploration. He is the recipient of the Space Frontier Foundation’s Vision to Reality Award and the United States Antarctic Service Medal. Currently, Lee is based out of the NASA Ames Research Center in California.
