Ben Gulak is the 19-year-old creator of the Uno, a "one-wheeled" zero emissions motorcycle. The bike actually has two side-by-side wheels and uses gyroscopic technology to remain upright. Speed and direction is regulated based on where and how much the rider leans on the vehicle. Ben is also the Founder and Chairman of BPG Technologies, which is the organization producing the Uno.
In recent years, he has won numerous science and design awards including the prestigious National Collegiate of Inventors and Innovators Alliance Award. The Uno was selected by Popular Science Magazine as one of the Top 10 Inventions for 2008, appearing on the cover in June 2008. In 2008, Ben had the distinction of being named as one of Canada's Top 20 Under 20.
Currently, he resides in Boston where he continues to work on the Uno while attending MIT as an undergraduate.
